Shelter: Poulinelund – Rantzausminde Skov
Welcome to the shelter site in Poulinelund.
The forest is owned by Svendborg Municipality and, together with Juulgårdsskoven, constitutes a large forest area of approximately 42 hectares. The forest is very diverse and consists of both newly planted and very old forest. There are large areas with 100-year-old oak trees and 100-year-old beech groves. The entire Juulgårsskoven, the western part of the forest, was planted in 1997. In Paulinelund, almost 10 hectares have been untouched forest since 2013. This means that in these areas, the forest is allowed to develop completely naturally without felling trees or making any other interventions in the forest. The shelter site is located right in the middle of an area of untouched forest. There are fine paths throughout the forest, where you will also find a small playground. If you come in the spring, don't miss the magnificent carpet of wood anemones, which, together with wood sorrels, covers the entire forest floor in the eastern part of the forest.
