Geopark: Egense Ridge

Elongated, up to 54 meters high, ridge that winds in an irregular course through the landscape west of Svendborg

The ridge is made up of meltwater deposits, deposited in tunnels under the ice or in crevasses in stagnant ice masses in the younger part of the Weichselian ice age 17-19,000 years ago.

The ridge is covered in several places by moraine clay.
